HDR Brightness Issues

Sometimes when I update Plasma and recompile, the HDR looks strange.

To reproduce on my 1000nit display with AMD graphics, and exaggerate the issue, I've done the following:

  • HDR enabled (no problem with SDR)
  • Maximum SDR Brightness 300
  • Brightness 15

What you do see in the image attached is that the highlights around the window buttons are far brighter than they should be. What you don't see from the image, though I could possibly capture it with a camera, is that the top-left and top-right corners of the window are blindingly bright. Turning up the display to set maximum HDR brightness to 1000 nits helps, but it still isn't quite right. Turning up the main brightness all the way makes the issue disappear, but then my whole screen is blindingly bright, which I don't want at night.
