Autosurgeon does all(?) the surgeries instead of applying braces.

Updated to version 0.10.8 mod version 2.8.X build 1051 commit 9eaaed11 from a recent version, applied BC, and tried to apply braces to a newly-acquired event slave. Autosurgeon seems to have hit every case in the big surgery switch statement, doing about 5 screens' worth of surgery. Also somehow her art is bugged. 0/10 would not send new slave to again.

I feel like you probably managed to splice files. Redownload and do not copy over the previous install.

The problem was in a local mod (forgot >>), not pregmod.
